76- MICHAEL RAJNER — Activist, Chair of the Broward County Human Rights Board
Michael Emanuel Rajner was raised in the New York and New Jersey area. His professional background includes property and casualty insurance broker/underwriting, legislative aide to a state senator, and as a social worker. He is passionately engaged in the advancement of civil rights and protections for all people, with a special focus on issues intersecting with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and communities of people affected by HIV/AIDS. Michael caused quite the controversy back in 2013 with his “Gidget for Wilton Manors Mayor 2014” political campaign. Gidget, you see, was Michael’s dog, and her campaign was described by him as “a way to voice frustration with humor,” sending “a bold message that we can do better as a community.”
